Storm & Emergency Tree Service

Emergency Tree Removal in the Niagara Region, ON

A tree on the house, a limb hanging over the driveway or a trunk across the yard? Call us first.

Tree Down? Here's What to Do First

When a tree or a big limb comes down, the first few minutes matter more than how fast the wood gets cleared. Keep people away from it, check for wires and get out of any part of the house that's been hit. Then call (289) 672-1630. We'll answer, ask a few questions about what's happened and tell you when the crew can be there. Our first job on site is always to make things safe. The cleanup comes after.

Is a Power Line Involved?

Stay at least 10 metres back, about the length of a school bus, from any fallen or sagging wire, and keep everyone else back too. Assume every line is live, even if it isn't sparking. Call 911 and your electricity utility. We can't start work on a tree touching a line until the utility has made it safe.

What We Handle

Trees on Houses and Garages

Trunks and limbs lifted off the roof in sections with ropes, so the removal doesn't add to the damage.

Trees on Cars and Fences

Wood cut and lifted away carefully so what's underneath can be assessed.

Hanging and Cracked Limbs

Broken branches caught in the crown, or split limbs still attached, taken down before they fall on their own.

Blocked Driveways and Paths

Trunks across the driveway, the laneway or the path to the door cleared so you can get in and out.

Leaning Trees After a Storm

Trees that shifted in the wind or lifted their roots, assessed on site and taken down if they can't be trusted.

Make Safe First, Clean Up After

If a full cleanup can't happen right away, we make the site safe first and come back to finish.

What to Do While You Wait

  • Keep children and pets away from the tree and anything it's resting on.
  • Stay out of rooms where the roof or walls have been hit.
  • If water is coming in, move valuables and put buckets down, but don't climb on the roof.
  • Don't try to cut a tree that's under tension or resting on something. Bent trunks and limbs can spring back with enormous force.
  • Take photos of the damage from a safe distance before anything is moved. Your insurer will want them.
  • Call your home insurer to report the damage. Coverage depends on your policy, so ask them what it includes.

What Affects the Price of an Emergency Call?

Emergency work is quoted on site because no two storm jobs are alike. As a rough guide, Niagara-area pricing guides put emergency tree work at about $500 to $3,000 or more per tree.

What drives the priceWhy
Size of the treeBigger trees take more crew time and equipment
What it's resting onA tree on a roof needs slow, careful sectional work
AccessBackyards with no gate access mean more carrying by hand
Time of dayWork after dark or in bad weather costs more
CleanupFull haul-away costs more than cutting the wood to length

We'll give you a price before the main work starts, once we've seen the damage. Making the site safe first may be priced separately.

How It Works

  1. 1

    Call

Tell us what came down, what it hit and whether wires are involved.

  2. 2

    Time on Site

We tell you when the crew can get there. Same day when we can.

  3. 3

    Make It Safe

Hanging limbs down, weight taken off the house and the area secured.

  4. 4

    Remove and Clean Up

The tree cut up and removed, the wood and debris handled the way you want.

  5. 5

    Look at What's Left

Then we look over whatever is still standing, and the trees around it, for storm damage that's hard to spot from the ground.

Emergency Questions

What should I do if a tree falls on my house?

Get everyone out of the damaged area, stay well away from any wires and call 911 if anyone is hurt or a line is down. Then call your insurer and us. Don't try to remove the tree yourself.

Will my insurance cover tree removal?

It depends on your policy and on what the tree hit. Many policies pay for removal if the tree hit the house or garage, but often not when it only lands on the lawn. Ask your insurer. We can send photos and a written summary of what we did to help with your claim.

How fast can you get here?

It depends on the storm. After a big wind or ice storm, calls come in from across the region at once. We'll always give you a realistic time on the phone, and we put calls with trees on houses or blocked exits first.
