Tree Care for St. Davids Homes and Lots

St. Davids sits at the foot of the escarpment between Niagara-on-the-Lake and Niagara Falls, surrounded by orchards, vineyards and old village lots. Tree Service Niagara prunes, trims and removes trees here, grinds stumps and comes out after storms, with one crew handling the whole job. Call (289) 672-1630 to book a free estimate.

The first step is always a visit. We look at each tree's health, what it's growing near and how the crew can reach it, then put together a written quote that lists what we'd cut, what we'd leave and what it costs.

Local Trees, Local Conditions

This is one of the oldest settlements in Niagara, and many properties have big, old trees close to the house, with the escarpment woods rising just behind the village. Orchard and vineyard edges bring fruit trees and windbreaks into many yards. Oaks are common, and with oak wilt now in Niagara-on-the-Lake, they should only be pruned between November and March. We schedule oak work for the winter.

Trees here are often old, large and close to the house, so tree pruning is the work we’re asked for most in St. Davids.

Trees Like Yours

The land between the lake and the escarpment is some of the best growing country in Ontario, which is why it's full of orchards and vineyards. It's also windy. Air rushes down off the escarpment and across open fields, and trees on the bench often grow leaning away from it. Fruit trees here need a winter prune for light and airflow, and big shade trees need their crowns kept light enough to handle the gusts.

How It Works

  1. 1

    Free Visit

We walk the property with you and look at every tree you're concerned about.

  2. 2

    Written Quote

Each tree and each job listed separately, with the price and how the wood and cleanup are handled.

  3. 3

    Rules Checked

Residents can't prune or remove Town trees. Private trees that are part of a woodland, even a small one, fall under the Region's woodland by-law here. Ordinary pruning isn't affected, and we check before any removal.

  4. 4

    The Work

Climbers and ground crew prune, trim or take down the tree, lowering wood on ropes where it can't fall freely, and checking for nests from spring to late summer.

  5. 5

    Cleanup

Branches chipped, wood cut, stacked or hauled away, and the yard raked before we go.

Pruning, Trimming and Removal

Most calls start with “I need a tree cut”, and the right answer depends on what you want. Trimming gets branches off the roof, the driveway or the view. Pruning keeps a tree healthy and strong: deadwood out, weak forks corrected, a heavy crown thinned. Removal is for trees that are dead, failing or in the wrong place, and stump grinding finishes the job. We'll tell you which your trees need, and we never recommend removal when pruning would do.
